The Why

While on the grid, we sometimes forget the why. Why you going so hard?? Why are you ”out here”? Why?? Each day take time to remind yourself of the "why". No matter your reason for wanting to or have entered into the world of STEM. Remember why you entered.

Like myself, maybe it wasn't your 1st love but came just as equal to your 1st love. I got into STEM because I love to learn and its so much to learn it's like a rabbit hole when it comes to Tech. Each day it's something new and it several different roles that could be used. I looked around and noticed no one in my area knew anything about the amazing happenings in tech. So I said "Why not?" and from there came my why.

Why I spent time each day learning and teaching about code? Why I go so hard? Why I'm "out here"? Because I have come to learn that you can easy become what you see, but if you never see it, never heard of it, if it's never placed in your face how can you know if you what to be that? You would have to go find it. However for many in urban communities it no places near to look nor anyone to look too. I understood the why not.

My why became even more clear and it's more than about my love of tech. I was about my love of helping others see in the urban communities. See something else to be. In tech Blacks only make up between 3% - 8% (not much to see now) but providing a positive image and access to all things STEM numbers that are already on the rise is sure to increase times 10!

My why is clear to me. What is your WHY?
